Nokian Tyres actively promotes occupational health, and the goal is to minimize the number of occupational accidents. We encourage the employees to think that occupational accidents can be avoided by the choices they make.
Respecting human rights in the supply chain
Natural rubber is one of the main ingredients for tires. It is the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of families living in countries where the local legislation and working conditions have not been fully developed. In 2023, 100 percent of our approved natural rubber processors were either members of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber or committed to develop their operations according to Nokian Tyres Sustainable natural rubber policy.
We expect our suppliers to share the strive towards a more socially sustainable supply chain, where decent working conditions are promoted. We conduct sustainability audits to improve sustainability in our natural rubber value chain.
Sustainable safety and performance for drivers
We work to make the world a safer place to drive, work and live. We strive to ensure that the tires that we develop, produce, and market are verifiably safe to use, even in demanding conditions.
Product responsibility is connected with everything we do, including product safety, quality, and compliance. The responsibility covers our processes from research and product development to testing, production, and procurement and purchasing as well as all the stages and functions of our supply chain. Our product responsibility also includes product marketing and communication to consumers.
Giving back to our communities
Corporate philanthropy is our company’s way of giving back to our community locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Donating our time, products, services, and money to charities and nonprofits helps us to build trust with our communities, consumers, and other companies as well as to improve our employee engagement.
