Nokian Tyres' purpose is to make the world safer by reinventing tires, and how they are made, over and over again - a safer place to drive, work and live now and for generations to come. Inspired by our northern heritage, we develop and manufacture premium tires for passenger cars, trucks and heavy machinery with sustainability at the heart of all our operations. Our Vianor chain provides tire and car services. We are some 3,800 people with net sales of EUR 1.3 billion in 2024, and together we lead the journey to smarter driving for people and for businesses.

Our strategy

Our growth strategy concentrates on getting back to EUR 2 billion growth track with strong profits. The strategy is divided into two phases: the first phase focuses on increasing new capacity and operational capability. When the second phase starts in 2026, the growth is expected to accelerate.

Our production

We manufacture car tires in our factories in Nokia, Finland and in Dayton, US. In early 2025, we start the commercial production in our new passenger car tire factory in Oradea, Romania.

Factory in Nokia, Finland

The factory in Finland serves a dual purpose: tire manufacturing and product development. It is a key location for our centralized product development, prototyping and test runs.

The US factory commenced commercial tire production in 2020 and we have been steadily expanding its production capacity. The facility focuses on North American-specific car and light truck all-season and all-weather tires.

Factory in Oradea, Romania

The building work for the Romanian factory started in early 2023. Upon completion in 2025, the factory will be the world’s first zero CO2 emission tire factory. Its annual capacity will be 6 million tires and it will employ approximately 500 people.

Our testing

The premium quality, safety and sustainability of our tires is based on constant development and careful testing both in laboratory and in real driving conditions. We operate two tire testing centers in Finland and one in Spain, which allow for year-round tire testing.

Ivalo testing center

The winter tires’ true home can be found in Ivalo, Finland, north of the Arctic Circle. With more than 20 tracks covering about 700 hectares, we do on average 200 test runs in Ivalo weekly during the testing season.

Nokia testing center

The test center in Nokia, Finland is located around the corner from the Nokian Tyres head office. At the test center, Nokian Tyres simulates almost all driving situations on northern roads from April to November.

Spain testing center

Situated in Santa Cruz de la Zarza in Spain, the test center hosts 10 test tracks, including a seven-kilometer oval track. The center enables demanding tire tests on wet and dry roads throughout the year.
