Building Connections: Highlights from the first ever Annual FUTUREPROOF Ecosystem Event

Prior to the main event, a smaller group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour inside the iconic red brick walls of the Nokian Tyres factory, providing a rare look at our tire production process. The day officially began with opening remarks from Program Director Susanna Tusa, followed by Teemu Soini, Nokian Tyres VP of Innovations & Development, who shared insights into our history and ongoing innovation efforts and future endeavors. After that, the FUTUREPROOF team introduced the program’s four streams, the ecosystem model and journey to date.

One of the highlights of the day was the stream fair, where ecosystem partners engaged with the FUTUREPROOF team and each other to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations. Following the networking sessions, attendees gathered in the auditorium for keynote presentations, including speakers from Business Finland, who outlined the fundamentals of co-innovation project funding. The event concluded with a look at future visions of transportation, presented by lecturer Markus Pöllänen from Tampere University.
