Jorge Garcia Rocha works as Nokian Heavy Tyres’ Area Sales Manager in Iberia, including Spain and Portugal. He has been working for the company for about four years now. In Nokian Heavy Tyres, he gets to work with customers, helping them get the best products for their heavy machinery. How does Jorge perceive the meaning of his work at Nokian Tyres?

“You could say that I was born with tires — rubber and tires are in my blood, so to speak. At Nokian Heavy Tyres, being close to the customers and end-users is our main mentality: we spend time in the field checking our tires and their performance. My daily work includes lots of actions with customers and marketing. 

“It's important for customers to not only feel that the performance of tires is amazing, but that we also provide safety. They work in challenging environments, like thick forests, and we want to provide them with top-notch safety packaged with great performance and the best support possible.” 

Safety and teamwork first 

“Safety is the first priority for us employees, and I appreciate that. Everything is not strictly about business; it’s also important to be at home and take care of your family.  

“For me, the core of our work is teamwork with colleagues and customers. I think the most important things are a full connection, knowledge-sharing, and strong communication, all of which help ensure that everyone is working in the same direction. You don’t feel alone: a whole team supports you, feedback is shared, and synergies work.” 

Creating a special feeling 

“When I started being more active on social media, I used to ask end users to send me pictures of our products in action. Nowadays, I often get pictures without asking, because people want to share their tires with everyone. They are proud to use Nokian Tyres’ high-quality products and happy for our support. 

“My personal purpose is to create a special feeling and a full connection with our customers. Strong relationships are key. We’ll never forget that our customers are the owners of tractors and forestry machines, people who need our products to be predictable and safe. We need to be there for them – and we will be.”
