Siva Kasetti is a Concept Owner of Internal Integrations at Nokian Tyres. His responsibilities include ensuring the enterprise integration platform’s reliability, scalability, performance, security, and compliance. He also collaborates with business stakeholders, architects, other concept owners, and vendors. His role is quite technical – what guides him forward?

“Integrations work as a kind of translator or postman between applications, enabling seamless data flow and automation across the organization. My idea is that technological solutions and IT are not a burden to business – we aid business. And that’s always our driving factor, especially when we are learning new things and incorporating something new into our systems and collaboration processes.

Safety is important to all of us, and in my work specifically, I think about safety when building solutions. It’s something that everybody should think about, even if they don’t work in the field or the factory where safety is a constant thing.”

Safety in the digital world

“You could say safety in my work is more about information security than physical safety, and in this digital age, that’s a crucial part of overall safety. One concrete example is data security: an important area we’re constantly improving. For one, we do comprehensive testing to prevent data leaks so that information won’t end up where it’s not supposed to.

I think that no matter their job description, everyone can and should work for safety. If our working environment was not safe, there could be disturbances or even accidents. To prevent that, safety really is our first priority.”

Sustainable solutions for success

“When it comes to sustainability in my work, we’re focusing on building reusable solutions, for example so that environmental resources can be saved. It might be tempting to look at technical or digital solutions as separate from the material world, but in fact, they use a lot of resources. So, whatever we are working on, reusability and sustainability are key.

In general, it’s important to keep aware of what's happening in the technology field. Technologies like generative AI can make our work simpler and allow us to build better solutions. Every day there is something new, either an innovation or maybe even a threat, and our job is to know what exactly they are. Then we can incorporate them for our success.”
