Nokian Tyres will begin personnel negotiations to improve its financial performance

Nokian Tyres will begin personnel negotiations to improve its financial performance and operational efficiency. The negotiations involve white-collar employees in Group functions and in all Nokian Tyres business units in all countries as well as blue-collar and white-collar employees in passenger car and heavy tire production in Nokia, Finland.

The negotiations concern altogether some 1,700 permanent white-collar positions in Nokian Tyres Group. According to preliminary assessments, the planned adjustment measures may lead to termination of 80 permanent white-collar positions. The planned adjustment measures also include temporary layoffs of approximately 650 blue-collar and white-collar employees in passenger car and heavy tire production in Nokia, Finland for a maximum period of 90 days per person. 

When applicable the negotiations and other necessary processes will begin immediately in accordance with each country’s legislation.

Possible temporary layoffs in passenger car and heavy tire production may be implemented by the end of 2026, with permanent white-collar positions possibly ending by late 2025.

At the end of September 2025, Nokian Tyres employed approximately 4,400 people globally, of whom 2,045 are in Finland.
