Futureproofing resilient European on- and off-road mobility
Nokian Tyres FUTUREPROOF research, development and innovation program confronts the key challenges of future mobility through solutions related to for example the digitalization of tires and traffic, sustainable product lifecycle and advanced manufacturing technologies. It crosslinks industries to join the common cause to futureproof traffic and tires with innovations across business, process, and technical domains.
The FUTUREPROOF program is funded by Business Finland.
The FUTUREPROOF streams
The FUTUREPROOF program aims to drive significant sustainability advancements and green transitions in the tire industry within four streams.

1. Future Mobility and Business
Future Mobility and Business stream transforms business models by understanding customer needs and leveraging technological capabilities to create superior, innovative products.

2. Sustainable Tire Lifecycle
Sustainable Tire Lifecycle stream targets new materials and manufacturing innovations to meet industrial needs sustainably.

3. Digital Foundation
Digital Foundation stream encompasses smart tires, AI and R&D tools.

4. Advanced Manufacturing
Advanced Manufacturing stream seeks to enhance automation and data utilization, aiming for zero-emission production.

The FUTUREPROOF program relies on partnerships that form the FUTUREPROOF ecosystem. The ecosystem accelerates development and introduces new expertise with cross-industry and cross-research collaborations. Its aim is to generate new multi-disciplinary competencies and solutions.
