This is why we’re leading with the world’s first zero CO₂ emission tire factory,
advancing the use of recycled and renewable materials, and designing tires
that last longer, save energy, and keep drivers safe – no matter the car, no
matter the conditions.

It’s about time tires are produced with zero co₂ emissions

We are transforming how tires are manufactured – including the world’s first
zero CO₂ emission tire factory, powered by renewable energy and
designed for maximum efficiency. It’s a bold step toward a cleaner industry,
and a clear signal that sustainability and performance can move forward
together.

Reducing emissions is at the heart of our innovation strategy – not just in how
our tires are made, but in how they perform. By engineering products with low
rolling resistance, we help vehicles consume less fuel or electricity, directly
cutting CO₂ emissions on the road.

It’s about time we switch to renewable and circular materials

Increasing safety and switching to smarter materials go hand in hand, as many innovations improving the sustainability of the tire also benefit its performance features.

At Nokian Tyres, circularity means designing products and processes that minimize waste and maximize reuse. Our target is to increase the share of recycled or renewable raw materials in tires to 50 per cent by 2030. At the moment, we are halfway to meeting our goal.
